THE
STUDY OF FISH IN THE NEW TESTAMENT 9 of 9
Mat
7:10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
Mat
7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your
children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good
things to them that ask him?
Mat
17:27 Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the
sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up;
and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money:
that take, and give unto them for me and thee.
Mat
18:1 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who
is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
Mat
18:2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the
midst of them,
Mat
18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and
become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Mat
18:4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child,
the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Mat
18:5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth
me.
Luke 11:11 If a son shall ask bread of any of
you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish,
will he for a fish
give him a serpent?
Luke
11:12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
Luke11:13
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children:
how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that
ask him?
Luke
24:42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of
an honeycomb.
Luke
24:43 And he took it, and did eat before them.
Luke
24:44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake
unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled,
which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the
psalms, concerning me.
Luke
24:45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand
the scriptures,
Luke
24:46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved
Christ to suffer,
and to rise from the dead the third day:
Luke
24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached
in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
John
21:9 As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of
coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread.
John
21:10 Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye
have now caught.
John
21:11 Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great
fishes,
an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was
not the net broken.
John
21:12 Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples
durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.
John
21:13 Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and
fish
likewise.
John
21:14 This is now the third time that Jesus showed himself to his
disciples,
after that he was risen from the dead.
