BREAD
IN THE NEW TESTAMENT 80 of 80
Mat
4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness
to be tempted of the devil.
Mat
4:2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was
afterward an hungered.
Mat
4:3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son
of God, command that these stones be made bread.
Mat
4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live
by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth
of God.
Mat
6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth
what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
Mat
6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in
heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Mat
6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Mat
6:11 Give us this day our daily
bread.
Mat
6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
Mat
6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Mat
6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father
will also forgive you:
Mat
6:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will
your Father forgive your trespasses.
Mat
7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find;
knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
Mat
7:8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth;
and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Mat
7:9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread,
will he give him a stone?
Mat
7:10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
Mat
7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your
children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good
things to them that ask him?
Mat
15:1 Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem,
saying,
Mat
15:2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders?
for they wash not their hands when they eat
bread.
Mat
15:3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress
the commandment of God by your tradition?
Mat
15:4 For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and,
He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
Mat
15:25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
Mat
15:26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's
bread,
and cast it to dogs.
Mat
15:27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs
which fall from their masters' table.
Mat
15:28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is
thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt.
And her daughter was made
whole from that very hour.
Mat
15:33 And his disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so
much bread in the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude?
Mat
15:34 And Jesus saith unto them, How many loaves have
ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little
fishes.
Mat
15:35 And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground.
Mat
15:36 And he took the seven loaves and the fishes,
and
gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples
to the multitude.
Mat
15:37 And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up
of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full.
Mat
16:5 And when his disciples were come to the other side, they had
forgotten to take bread. Mat 16:6 Then Jesus said unto them,
Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
Mat
16:7 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because
we have taken no bread. Mat 16:8 Which when Jesus perceived,
he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves,
because ye have brought no bread?
Mat
16:9 Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five
loaves
of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
Mat
16:10 Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and
how many baskets ye took up?
Mat
16:11 How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to
you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven
of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?
Mat
16:12 Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of
the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of
the Sadducees.
Mat
26:17 Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread
the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare
for thee to eat the passover?
Mat
26:18 And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto
him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at
thy house with my disciples.
Mat
26:19 And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they
made ready the passover.
Mat
26:26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and
blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take,
eat; this is my body.
Mat
26:27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them,
saying, Drink ye all of it;
Mat
26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed
for many for the remission of sins.
Mat
26:29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit
of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's
kingdom.
Mat
26:30 And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount
of Olives.
Mark
3:20 And the multitude cometh together again, so that they could
not so much as eat bread.
Mark
6:6 And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round
about the villages, teaching.
Mark
6:7 And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth
by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits;
Mark
6:8 And commanded them that they should take nothing for their
journey, save a staff only; no scrip, no
bread, no money in their
purse:
Mark
6:9 But be shod with sandals; and not put on two coats.
Mark
6:10 And he said unto them, In what place soever ye enter into
an house, there abide till ye depart from that place.
Mark
6:36 Send them away, that they may go into the country round about,
and into the villages, and buy themselves
bread: for they have nothing
to eat.
Mark
6:37 He answered and said unto them,
Give ye them to eat.
And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread,
and give them to eat?
Mark
6:38 He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see.
And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.
Mark
6:39 And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon
the green grass.
Mark
6:40 And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.
Mark
6:41 And when he had taken the five loaves and the
two
fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves,
and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes
divided he among them all.
Mark
6:42 And they did all eat, and were filled.
Mark
7:1 Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the
scribes, which came from Jerusalem.
Mark
7:2 And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with
defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.
Mark
7:3 For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their
hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.
Mark
7:4 And when they come from the market, except they wash, they
eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold,
as the washing of cups, and pots, brazen vessels, and of tables.
Mark
7:5 Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy
disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread
with unwashen hands?
Mark
7:6 He answered and said unto them,
Well hath Esaias prophesied
of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their
lips, but their heart is far from me.
Mark 7:25 For a certain woman, whose young
daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at
his feet:
Mark
7:26 The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she
besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.
Mark
7:27 But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled:
for it is not meet to take the children's
bread, and to cast it
unto the dogs.
Mark
7:28 And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs
under the table eat of the children's crumbs.
Mark
7:29 And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil
is gone out of thy daughter.
Mark
8:3 And if I send them away fasting to their own houses, they will
faint by the way: for divers of them came from far.
Mark
8:4 And his disciples answered him, From whence can a man satisfy
these men with bread here in the wilderness?
Mark
8:5 And he asked them, How many
loaves have ye? And they
said, Seven.
Mark
8:6 And he commanded the people to sit down on the ground: and
he took the seven loaves, and gave thanks, and brake, and gave to
his disciples to set before them; and they did set them before the people.
Mark
8:7 And they had a few small fishes: and he blessed, and
commanded to set them also before them.
Mark
8:8 So they did eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken
meat that was left seven baskets.
Mark
8:9 And they that had eaten were about four thousand: and he
sent them away.
Mark
8:14 Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread, neither
had they in the ship with them more than one loaf.
Mark
8:15 And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven
of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.
Mark
8:16 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because
we have no bread.
Mark
8:17 And when Jesus knew it, he saith unto them, Why reason ye,
because ye have no bread? perceive ye not yet, neither understand?
have ye your heart yet hardened?
Mark
8:18 Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and
do ye not remember?
Mark
8:19 When I brake the five loaves among five thousand, how many
baskets full of fragments took ye up? They say unto him, Twelve.
Mark
8:20 And when the seven among four thousand, how many baskets full
of fragments took ye up? And they said, Seven.
Mark
14:1 After two days was the feast of the passover, and of
unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how
they might take him by craft, and put him to death.
Mark
14:2 But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar
of the people.
Mark
14:12 And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed
the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and
prepare that thou mayest eat the passover?
Mark
14:13 And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto
them, Go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher
of water: follow him.
Mark
14:14 And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of
the house, The Master saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat
the passover with my disciples?
Mark
14:15 And he will show you a large upper room furnished and prepared:
there make ready for us.
Mark
14:16 And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and
found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
Mark
14:21 The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but
woe
to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man
if he had never been born.
Mark
14:22 And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed,
and brake it, and gave to them, and said,
Take, eat: this is my body.
Luke
4:1 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from

did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.
Luke
4:3 And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God,
command this stone that it be made
bread.
Luke
4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall
not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
Luke
7:32 They are like unto children
sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We
have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and
ye have not wept.
Luke
7:33 For John the Baptist came neither eating bread
nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil.
Luke
7:34 The Son of man is come eating
and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a
friend of publicans and sinners!
Luke
7:35 But wisdom is justified of
all her children.
Luke
9:1 Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them
power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.
Luke
9:2 And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal
the sick.
Luke

journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money;
neither have two coats apiece.

Luke
9:5 And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city,
shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.
Luke
9:6 And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the
gospel, and healing every where.
Luke
11:1 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain
place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach
us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.
Luke
11:2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say,
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
Luke
11:3Give us day by day our daily bread.
Luke
11:4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive
every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but
deliver us from evil.
