Lord God, You who are also a parent,
know my pain at the loss of my beloved friend,

who has been taken from my arms by death.
I desire to accept it in a holy way,
and to be healed and once again be whole.
Support me Lord by wrapping me in Your gentle
love, as I try to carry this bitter cross,
as Jesus carried the cross You gave Him.
